Pura Vida! Our second day in Costa Rica was amazing! We woke up at 5 a.m. and then proceeded two hours on the bus until we got the rafting company restuarant. We then ate breakfast at the rafting company, which consisted of eggs, yogurt, fruit (papaya and pineapple), toast, and of course, rice and beans. We had the opportunity to drink black coffee, which I put lots of sugar in, but it was amazing. :) We later went rafting, and we got to see canyons and many indigenous plants and wildlife. We even got to hear the familiar sound of cicadas, which was cool. We breaked for lunch about halfway through, and we had more fruit, and vegetables and bean spread that we could use to make our own burritos/sandwiches. We later finished rafting at about 2:30, and then we showered and changed into dry clothes to head to our homestays, which we are on the way to as I write! The trip has been awesome so far, and I can't wait to experience what lies ahead! We are doing great!
Until next time,
Rachel Payne
