Oh what a day in the lovely Costa Rican wonderland of Puerto Vieho. After a nutritious breakfast of eggs, ham, sausage, and the never old delicacy of beans and rice, our rag-tag team, known as group 1, started our journey. The first part of the journey consisted of a walk through the jungle, led by the father son team of Michael and Tino. On the walk we encountered a variety of plants which all had medicinal purposes (some tasting better than others) and we saw many types of wildlife ranging from banana spiders (which you can see in the picture)
to Jesus Christ lizards (they run on water... get it?). After the walk, one half of the group hung out on the beach while the other took a kayak tour. Once we made it as far down the river as the guide wanted to take us, we were allowed to race back. The lightweight duo of Deandre and I just couldn't take the gold, but Cantey pushing our kayak backwards didn't help our chances either so we settled with third place. Overall it's been a great day filled with lots of memorable moments. Bout to go eat some supper and get ready for the day tomorrow.
