PURA VIDA from la playa!!! Ab and Claire here coming to ya from the Black Pearl Hotel, Room 11. Day 5 was a sun, sand, and ocean filled adventure. We woke up and embarked on a snorkeling tour of the Caribbean, taking boats out to the coral reefs and swimming alongside all sorts of beautiful fish. They ranged from electric blue dots to bright yellow stripes, and we all loved the experience. We were then served ocean side with fresh pineapple, Costa Rican nuts, and cookies. The group then split, half participating in a nature hike through the peninsula and the other half exploring the town of Cahuita. The Cahuita group stimulated the local economy with our large purchases of soft drinks and ice cream in the "supermercado" and took a tour of the town, the entire one block it was. Group 1 reconvened for lunch at the Coral Reef restraunt, where we were thoroughly shocked with a nice serving of rice and beans! After having our fill of Costa Rican food, we headed to the beach and enjoyed 3 and a half hours of fun in sun! The girls spent their time tanning while the guys messed around in the ocean. We now are back at the hotel, hanging out as a group before dinner. We all are thoroughly excited for our menu of fish/chicken tacos or jerk chicken. Tomorrow we leave for home stays where we can't blog as much so wish us luck! Until next time~
