Group 2 (tortugas candados)

Today, we got up very early to drive about 15 minutes to Manzanilla, where we would begin our hike. When we arrived, we split into 2 groups, and I got put into the group with our tour guide named Michael. We preceded to walk around his backyard, as he showed us the various vegetation that produces the fruits and spices we use in everyday cooking. He even let us try them. Afterward, we walked on the road for a little to get to the path we would take to hike in the jungle. We walked around the rainforest, seeing various animals such as sloths, snakes, and poisonous frogs. Some of our students even put a golden orb weaving spider on their face!!! Also, We even entered a bat cave (Pictured below). Later, we walked around the beach and the rainforest for a little while longer, before we came back to the bus and said goodbye to the guides. We all changed into our swim suits and played around on the beach for several hours before getting ready to kayak. The kayaks we used were for 2 people, and we all kayaked about a kilometer down a calm river way back in the jungle in the beautiful punta uva area before stopping and enjoying a swim In the river.
And... Happy birthday dad!!!
