Group 2 Last Morning

Momma & Dad,
As amazing as this trip has been I think it's safe to say everyone has had their fill of long bus rides and rice and beans. I'm so glad I was able to take this time away from home to see a country with amazing culture and I can't wait to tell you all about it!
-Bug

Mother, Father,

Group 2 Day 8

Hi mom and dad!! I'm excited to see y'all tomorrow but super sad to leave Costa Rica. Today we repelled and it was so scary and I cried down one of the repels but then I had a ton of fun. After you do 2 or 3 it's a lot better and less scary.. If you could do me a huge favor and pickup a big zax snax meal from zaxbys since I'll be home after they close. Love you both and pura vida! - Anne Morrison

Hey mom and dad!! I've had so much fun and I'm excited to see y'all, but mostly excited to eat American food. See you soon and love you!!
- Julia

Hey Mom & Dad! So excited to see y'all tomorrow and tell you all about the trip! I've had the best time—especially the past few days. We've done all the high adventure stuff like ziplining and rappelling and yes, I absolutely loved every second of it. Love y'all and can't wait to see y'all!
- Sadie

Wat up fam. Having a great time here in paradise but glad to come home to my family and to some fried foods. See y'all late tomorrow and love y'all. Make sure Charlie checks my clash. And also my phone bit the dust before we left so can y'all look into that. Love, Chalmers Allen

Hi Mom! I miss you so much and just prepare yourself for me wanting to eat ANY American food in sight. This trip has been amazing and I have the best everything. We definitely have to come back. Love you and ¡PURA VIDA!
~Amaya

Hey guys! Today we rappeled. You probably won't believe me, but there was a monkey drop that was a 50 foot free fall. I screamed so much they stopped me halfway, then let me go again. It was so fun though. My GoPro died yesterday and the charger doesn't work hahah. Still have a lot of footage from the days before though. Having so much fun, I miss y'all! Pura Vida! When I get back, I am sleeping for 24 hours.
- Lana

Hey family, gonna see you guys tomorrow can't wait to show you all the pics and the great time I've had so far. p.s I'm no longer a vegetarian I've eaten so much meat here because the fish looked a lil suspect. Anyways can't wait to eat a normal American meal, soaked in oil and deep fried bc everything here is super healthy
- hasta luego, Morgan

Group One, covering the past three days.

After staying in Tres Equis, I can easily say it was a place like no other. Victoria and I stayed with a fabulous family who took us to their daughter's dance class. The next day those same kids from the class danced for and with the whole group and it was my favorite part of the whole trip. ¡Pura Vida!
-Marchant Harris, Arboles Frijoles

The home stays in Tres Equis were one of the best parts of the entire trip. Being able to have this amazing opportunity to stay with an amazing family in a super friendly town was a life changing experience. The families were so nice and made the entire group feel welcomed. While in Tres Equis, we were able to give back to the community by working super hard on a new building all the hammond groups worked on throughout the trip. They were all very thankful for all the work we put into it and I'm really glad because they completely deserved it. To see how little they had but how happy they were made a huge impact on my perspective of things. We ended our last night in Tres Equis by dancing with some cute local kids for about two hours. It was so fun and my favorite part of the trip. Saying Goodbye to them was so hard. They've impacted my life for the better and I'm glad to have met them and had this opportunity. I will never forget them.
-Mikayla Turner, Arboles Frijoles

Today we went White Water Rafting. Even though I have done this many other times, this river was a new experience for me. I was with Victoria, Susanna, Simeon, and Mr.Lumpkin for the 4 hour trip on the water. It was amazing going under the waterfalls and over the Class 4 rapids. Even with all this new excitement, I am ready to be home with my family. ¡Pura Vida!
- Fo Anderson, Arboles Frijoles

This trip has been so fun! After two nights at the home stays eating some of the best food ever (sorry mom and dad), we went white water rafting. The water was really cold but the rafting was still fantastic. Overall, I would have to say that the home stay was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It was really cool to see and experience the culture of Costa Rica first hand.
-Riley Elenz

We went to the small town of Tres Equis to stay with Costa Rican families in their homes for two nights and do community service. It was eye opening and probably my favorite part of the trip. They are the most considerate people and they really care. I got to practice my Spanish because they spoke no English at all. Today we went white water rafting and that is tied for my favorite activity with zip lining. We leave tomorrow and Im excited to see the fam and dogs
-Anna Felder

This trip made me not only get out of my comfort zone, but I learned a lot of things along the way. That's why this trip will always be remembered. Maybe I'll stick around here for a little longer.           -Julia Feresin
I'm so sad we're leaving Costa Rica already, but I am looking forward to taking a long hot bath and watching a movie when I get home. This trip has been a really amazing experience, and I am going to miss spending so much time with everybody! --Sophie One more day until I can see you all again !!! Can't believe it's the last day! I'm sad because we've had a lot of fun and also our group is the best, the other groups better watch out tomorrow! But I am pretty excited to eat American food again, I've been craving Five Guys and Chick-fil-A for the last few days! Pura Vida! -Stefanie Mr. Love, Thomas is alive, and as I always assure you, I've been watching out for him. Las Rocas Invincibles

Mom, dad, and whoever else it could possibly concern, I'm still alive (and no, mom, I have not gotten sunburned). It's our last full day in Costa and we are headed to zip line (hope my harness doesn't break, mom 😉). Yesterday we repelled and went caving and 17 years later, I made it through yet another birth canal successfully. Pura Vida and see y'all soon with a bag full of smelly, wet clothes in hand!  Tell Buster and Benny I'll be home soon. -MC
