Group 2 Update From: Bailey

Hola! I was told to inform all of the mother's that yes, we are all alive and everyone is totally being pushed out of their comfort zones, in a good way of course.
Today we reached our final destination in La Fortuna. We have been traveling all around Costa Rica and doing all sorts of crazy adventurous activities! By far, the best activities have been the white water rafting and everything involving the home stays. The rafting was absolutely insane! We had the best guides and they made it so much fun. But the part that really captured everyone's attention was the home stays. When we arrived at Tres Equis we immediately were introduced to our families and whisked away to see their homes. Mi madre, Jackie, and her daughter Karina were extremely welcoming and sweet. Although extremely awkward due to the language barrier, we made it work! We had a huge night of dancing with all of the locals and it was extremely fun! The next morning we headed over to the school where we were doing our community service project. I have never had an opportunity to change lives the way we did yesterday. The school had partially been primed when we arrived and throughout the day we primed and painted the entire outside of the school. We also planted trees, built and painted playground materials, and played with the kids. That was probably one of the best experiences on the trip. Every single person in our group had at least two kids hanging off of them and they were loving it. By the end of the day I think every student in our group realized the effect we had had on the people.
I absolutely loved helping the school, the children, and being with my host family, and I'm sure I speak for all of us! Everyone is having so much fun and making tons of memories that we will remember forever. Pura Vida!
PS. Mom, Dad, David, and Will, I miss and love y'all lots!
