Group 1-Emma

The day started off great with snorkeling through the beautiful blue Caribbean waters to see the largest coral reef in Costa Rica in Cahuita National Park. Everyone snorkeled for about 45 minutes and saw schools of fish, sea urchins, and the natural reef. After a short boat ride to the Punta Cahuita, the point of the beach, we had pineapple and nuts for a snack and then everyone either walked back to town or took the boat. Those who walked enjoyed an hour long walk on the costal forest trail and saw birds, monkeys, sloths, butterflies, and lizards. People who took the boat back just walked around town before we all met up for lunch. The day ended with a few peaceful hours on the beach where we all enjoyed laying out and playing in the beautiful ocean. However, before we were able to get on the bus to go back to the hotel, I had the very unpleasant experience of being pooped on by a monkey in a palm tree overhead. Although I can't say I'm glad it happened, I can say most people will not have the unique experience I did!
