Group 3- "the finale"- Alex, Evers, and Quinn

Today group three had a perfect grand finale. We started off the day early with a 6:45 breakfast, then headed straight to zip-lining! This was an adrenaline filled experience which will last a life time. We went on 8 different length and speed ziplines, the longest being over half a mile! We have had many great experiences, but I can not wait to be home! Mom, Dad, and Katherine, don't be late to the airport!!!!!! See y'all soon!
- Evers

Group three had an unforgettable day, ending the trip with a bang! Everyone had an experience of a lifetime, zip lining 1000 feet above the ground. After flying over the tree tops, we visited a school in the small town of Sona Fluca. The school children shared their culture with us by preforming a traditional dance. The children were adorable and so excited to share their native heritage. They had big smiles and were very appreciative of the books we brought for them. This trip has helped us all grow as a group and individually. We have done things we never would have thought we would do and we have experienced truly amazing things. The relationships we have built and memories that we have created will last forever.
To my family and friends back at home, I miss y'all very much and I can not wait to see y'all again! I love you!

Hello every friend/family member of the Hammond community! Firstly, we all survived. Some of us may have had to suffer through cuts, blistered sunburns, and throbbing bruises, but we survived! Throughout the last day in this beautiful country of Costa Rica, I have pondered and relived all the wonderful experiences I had the pleasure to be a part of. These adventures would have never been the same without the wonderful people around me that I can say, with no hesitation, are my friends. I have lived life in Costa Rica in a way that I could never imagine doing over. EVERY member of the group has pushed through personal boundaries and hesitations without looking back, making me feel only the upmost respect for every single one of them. I could never ask for a better group of friends to experience this with!
To my family and friends back home, I love you all but I can honestly say I'm not ready to leave just yet. This has been the best experience of my life. The memories and adventures will NEVER escape my mind. I hope y'all are ready for nonstop stories when we return tomorrow!
    Until tomorrow,
                          Alex
