Group II, Tres Equis

I am again amazed at the authenticity of this phase of the experience. Students are often anxious about the home stays, but they quickly realize the power and value of this true cultural exchange. Our last two days have been transformational for our students in so many ways. Many people are fortunate to visit Costa Rica, but very, very few have the opportunity to live in homes in a village that has zero tourism. We also had the opportunity to spend yesterday giving back in a day of service, painting a local school with the children and adults from the little town. I was proud of the effort and spirit of our group. We were able to accomplish a great deal in just a day. We spent the evening in an intense soccer game, got to visit a local sugar cane factory, and were treated to traditional CR dances (and had fun participating). Pictures never truly convey the power, but here are a few.
