Leaving Tres Equis

For the past two days and a half we split up into pairs and we were adopted by our host families. The families took us in with open arms and always made us feel welcome and comfortable in their homes. We got to experience the culture of the people of Tres Equis as well as their delicious foods. Many of us tried foods that we would otherwise never think of trying and actually secretly enjoyed those foods. We bonded with each other and with our host families, especially the kids. Many games were created like the "The Jordan Game" which consisted of Jordan throwing a ball up in the air watching about 10 kids fight over it. We learned how to dance trumbos which is a game native to that part of Costa Rica. We all made close relationships with people who many of us could not communicate with through language. Only a few hours after leaving the town, many of us started missing the little girls we got to play with or the boys that we took down in a game of soccer. We are now starting a new adventure on the beach and can only hope it's going to be as fun and impacting on our lives as our time in Tres Equis was.
